Volt Slovakia is Introducing the candidates for the autumn municipal elections
Volt Slovakia presents its candidates for the autumn municipal and regional elections. People who care about the places where they live – in villages, cities and self-governing regions – are running all over Slovakia.
During the Volt Pan-European General Assembly in Bratislava in June 2026, candidates presented themselves on stage in front of leaders from all over Europe. Watch the moment when candidates from all over Slovakia took the stage and gained the support of the pan-European community.
Volt Slovakia published the list of candidates for the the autumn municipal elections. We are running across Slovakia – from cities like Bratislava or Košice, through Martin, Prievidza and Prešov, to smaller municipalities like Nižná, Halič, Ružiná, Pribeta, Rovinka, Malinovo or Cerová. We are not the most numerous, but behind each name there is a person who really knows their region and wants to move it towards the better.

We have also presented a joint Municipal-Regional Program, with which all our candidates are going to the elections. Its main priorities are:
Local government as the first level of the state - stronger municipalities, cities and regions with real competencies and finances.
Region, city and municipality digitalised - digital and simple offices, open data.
A place to live - affordable housing, quality transport, more greenery, climate resilience.
Local economy 2.0 - support for local entrepreneurs, innovations and cooperation between companies, schools and local governments.
Health and care - more accessible community health and social services.
Education and opportunities at home - investments in schools and young people so that they do not have to leave for a better life elsewhere.
Radical transparency and vibrant democracy - open local governments and participatory decision-making.
Each of our candidates has chosen from this common framework what is most troubling to their municipality or city – and we can only do this because we have people directly in the regions who know them inside out.
