“Most solutions already exist. We just need to be willing to see them.”

A third-generation Martin local. Translator. Someone who believes the solutions are already out there.

I am a third-generation resident of Martin. I work as a specialist translator and teach English and Slovak to professionals in specialized roles. I also collaborate with Archa and the Association for International Affairs. I am standing for Volt Slovakia because I believe that most of the solutions our city needs already exist – they simply require a willingness to listen, understand and make changes. I want Martin to become a more resilient and pleasant place to live.

Who I Am

Martin has been my family's home for three generations.

I am a third-generation resident of Martin. I studied in Jahodníky, Ľadoveň and Sučany. Apart from brief periods spent in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brno and Bratislava, I have lived and worked in or from Martin. In recent years, I have specialized in technical and professional translation and teaching English and Slovak to people in specialized professions.

At the heart of my work is cooperation – understanding solutions and communicating them clearly. These may involve public procurement, European legislation, contractual relationships, recruitment, safety or business management.

I also collaborate with Archa and the Association for International Affairs, focusing on housing, urban resilience to extreme weather and strengthening trust among citizens.

Why I Am Standing for Election

We do not need grand projects. We need to listen and act.

In Banja Luka and other cities, I have seen examples of what Martin could become. Achieving this does not require a grand project – residents know best what is not working on their streets or in their neighborhoods. That is why my priority is to create a simple and effective way for people not only to report problems, but also to track how they are being resolved and help decide which issues should be addressed first.

Parking problems, neglected green spaces, flooded streets and dangerous roads cannot be fixed through yet another temporary measure. A long-term vision developed together with residents can make our city more resilient and a better place to live – somewhere, for example, where you can confidently let your child cycle to school.

My candidacy reflects my belief that most solutions already exist. Too often, we overlook them because they require us to listen, understand and be willing to change things.

My Priorities

Neighborhood Spaces That Bring People Together

Where can you sit down with your neighbors over a bowl of goulash or find out what is happening in the city? I want every residential neighborhood to have a place where neighbors can meet and get to know one another. Together, we can identify suitable spaces that make sense for each community.

Paths That Actually Connect

Martin is well known for the condition of its roads and pavements. The first step is to agree on where paths should lead and why – so that instead of repairing disconnected sections that lead nowhere, we build a continuous, safe network for pedestrians and cyclists.

A Greener, More Vibrant City and Neighborhoods

The more nature people have around them, the better they feel. More greenery also helps protect us from extreme heat and flash flooding. I want Martin to become greener, more pleasant and more resilient to extreme weather.

My Vision for Martin

I envision Martin as a city that is resilient to extreme weather and a pleasant place to live every day. A city where people can walk and cycle safely, where there are plenty of green spaces and where residents have a real say in what happens in their neighborhoods.

I believe a great city is not built through grand projects, but through a long-term vision developed together with residents – and a willingness to listen, understand and act.

How I Work

Throughout my professional life, cooperation has been at the heart of what I do – listening, understanding and clearly communicating solutions between different parties. I want to bring the same approach to my work for Martin: being open, working closely with residents and making sure good ideas become reality.
