Elected representatives / Malinovo Municipal Council

Researcher. Councillor. Father. Someone who gets things done, rather than just talking about them.

I am the Dean of the Faculty of Informatics at Pan-European University and a member of the Malinovo Municipal Council. I have worked with local governments and non-profit organizations for 25 years, giving me a thorough understanding of the challenges facing local communities. As a Municipal Councillor, I focus primarily on education and regional development.

Who I Am

Malinovo is, above all, about its people.

I live in Malinovo, where I serve as an independent Municipal Councillor, chair and member of several municipal committees, and Chair of the School Council. I work to strengthen community life – I established the Parents' Council at the primary school and helped bring about an important change by transferring responsibility for the school from the regional government to the municipality. Today, the school is becoming a community hub that brings together 570 children and their parents.

Professionally, I am the Dean of the Faculty of Informatics at Pan-European University in Bratislava. I teach and conduct research in virtual reality, computer graphics algorithms and web technologies, and I enjoy encouraging entrepreneurship among students and researchers.

I have been drawn to public affairs since childhood. At the age of fourteen, I was already involved in civic associations at the local, regional and national levels. Later, I worked on development projects and collaborated with mayors and councillors. In 2022, the residents of Malinovo elected me to the Municipal Council. I am also a proud husband and father of two daughters – and I love family life.

My greatest motivation is getting things done, not just talking about them.

I am steadily delivering on my election programme, but there are still many challenges in Malinovo that need to be addressed. I enjoy working with people – both on the Municipal Council and in the community. My greatest motivation is to turn ideas into reality rather than simply talk about them. Serving as a councillor gives me the opportunity to make a real difference.

As a Municipal Councillor, I communicate issues and decisions accurately and honestly, always taking into account legal requirements, the municipality's financial resources and the interests of residents. Over 25 years of working with local governments and the non-profit sector, I have learned that trust is built through clear and understandable communication.

What attracted me to Volt Slovakia was its European values, its commitment to building a political party from the grassroots up, and the opportunities to connect with people from other countries. After attending online meetings, I was also convinced by the authenticity of the people building Volt in Slovakia.

My Priorities

Developing Our School Environment

I want to help build the most successful municipality-run primary school in the region. This includes constructing a new school building and strengthening cooperation between the school, pupils and parents through shared activities and community building.

Partnerships with Municipalities Across Europe

I want to bring digital expertise and community development know-how from other European regions to Malinovo. Through joint projects and the involvement of municipal leaders, local cultural and sports organizations, and community groups, I want to make use of European programmes and funding opportunities to support the village's development.

Digital Municipal Services

I want to make municipal services easier to access through reliable and trustworthy digital solutions. I also want decisions about municipal service fees to be based on reliable digital data.

My Vision for Malinovo

I do not want to paint an unrealistic picture of an ideal future, but I do want to outline what is realistically achievable. Malinovo should be a village where people do more than just come home to sleep – a place with a wide range of social and cultural services, as well as opportunities for innovative businesses. Shared interests should bring the community together, connecting newcomers and long-standing residents alike.

I envision a village with modern education in its own school facilities, revitalized public spaces and a well-prepared pipeline of development projects. A village with healthy finances that takes on manageable debt to invest in its future, and that maintains long-term partnerships with municipalities across Europe to exchange ideas that benefit its residents.

How I Work

I communicate issues and decisions accurately and honestly, always considering legal constraints, the municipality's financial capacity and the interests of residents. Malinovo does not have a large enough municipal area to rely on substantial industrial development to fund its budget. That is why I believe in having capable people in key positions – in education, planning and project management – to ensure that our goals can actually be achieved.
