Mikuláš Lakatoš
“Politics Based on Expertise, Transparency and Cooperation.”
Public Administration Expert. Founding Member of Volt. Pribeta Local.
My name is Mikuláš Lakatoš, and I have extensive experience in public administration, minority policies, healthcare and social innovation. Through my studies and professional career in Slovakia and abroad, I have gained experience in designing and implementing innovative solutions in public administration that help improve people's lives. Today, I feel it is time to bring that experience back home – to the community that shaped me. I am standing for Volt Slovakia because I believe our village deserves modern, open and transparent local government that listens to its residents and delivers tangible results.
Who I Am
Pribeta is the community that shaped me.
I am a public governance expert specializing in inclusive policies and sustainable community development. My work focuses on designing and implementing participatory processes that strengthen collective decision-making and encourage the involvement of diverse groups of residents. I also have extensive experience bringing together social, healthcare and community policies to create practical solutions.
My involvement in public affairs grew out of years of working with communities and a desire to address problems not only individually, but also at a systemic level. I came to realize that many improvements in healthcare, education and social inclusion depend on well-designed public policies and decisions made at both local and national levels.
Pribeta is the community that shaped me – it taught me to dream, stay curious and look for solutions. That is why I want to turn my experience from Slovakia, Europe and the international environment into projects that improve everyday life and create better opportunities for current and future generations.
Why I Am Standing for Election
Less Politics, More Solutions for Everyday Life in Pribeta.
I believe effective local government can make a significant difference to people's everyday lives. I am standing for election now because I want to bring greater expertise, transparency and a long-term vision to local decision-making. Municipalities today face many challenges – from managing public resources and improving services to creating opportunities that encourage young people to stay in the region.
My goal is not politics for its own sake, but tangible results for the people of Pribeta. Public service requires people who are prepared to listen, cooperate and take responsibility for their decisions.
Volt Slovakia appealed to me from the very beginning – I am one of its founding members. From the outset, I believed Slovakia needed politics based on expertise, transparency and European cooperation instead of unnecessary conflict. I value Volt's commitment to evidence-based proposals and expert arguments, as well as the openness of its members and their willingness to engage in constructive discussions, even on difficult issues.
Inclusion in Slovakia
My Priorities
Efficient and Transparent Local Government
I want to promote more open decision-making and keep residents better informed about how the municipality manages its resources and makes decisions. I will support the publication of clear, accessible information about investments, projects and the use of public funds, so residents know how their money is being spent and have a greater say in shaping the village's development.
Better Services and More Opportunities for Young People
Quality of life in a village depends on the quality of its services. I want to improve access to healthcare, education, social support and leisure activities, with particular attention to young people. Many leave to study or work elsewhere and never return. I want to help create conditions that make Pribeta a place where young people see a future for themselves – somewhere worth living, working and raising a family.
A Village for Everyone
Pribeta is home to people from different backgrounds, nationalities and walks of life. I will support initiatives that strengthen cooperation, mutual respect and a sense of belonging among residents. My goal is a village where everyone feels part of the community and knows their voice matters.
My Vision for Pribeta
In five to ten years, I envision Pribeta as a village where people enjoy a good quality of life regardless of age, nationality or social background. A financially stable, efficiently managed municipality capable of making the most of national and European funding opportunities. Good local government should be close to its residents, communicate openly and make decisions based on their actual needs.
Above all, I want to see greater public participation in decision-making, improvements in the quality of local services and a stronger ability to plan the village's development strategically over the long term. At the same time, we should preserve what makes Pribeta unique – its strong community ties, cultural diversity, traditions and good relationships between residents.
How I Work
If elected, I will be a voice for residents on the Municipal Council. I will bring professional expertise in local government, experience in public policy and a strong focus on using public resources efficiently. I want decisions to be based on facts, cooperation and the real needs of residents.
