Patrik Bulla (Duplicated)
“I would rather be judged by my results than my promises.”
Born and raised in Nižná. Political scientist and project manager. Someone who wants to make things work.
My name is Patrik Bulla, I am 28 years old, and I am standing for Volt Slovakia as a candidate for the Nižná Municipal Council. I studied political science and currently work as a project manager for web projects. I decided to put myself forward because I believe in my values. I want to show that politics can be done with honesty and integrity. Through my actions, I want to stand firm on principles where others are willing to compromise them, and bring understanding where unnecessary conflict stands in the way.
Who I Am
Good-looking and functional – at work and in public spaces.
As a project manager, my job is to make sure the websites I oversee are not only visually appealing, but above all practical and functional. I want to bring the same principle into politics – delivering results that do not just look good, but actually work for people.
Political discussions were part of everyday life in our family, so I developed an interest in politics back in secondary school. That interest eventually led me to study political science at Comenius University in Bratislava. Politics has fascinated me for a long time, and now I feel it is time to put that knowledge and energy into practice.
In my free time, I most enjoy being with family and friends – having a chat, sharing a laugh and simply recharging my batteries.
Why I Am Standing for Election
Integrity where others compromise. Energy where nothing gets done.
I am entering politics only now, and that is a deliberate choice. After university, I had opportunities to get involved straight away, but it did not feel right. I wanted to start by working in the real world, experiencing different managers and colleagues, and gaining practical experience. Now I am ready to bring that experience into public life.
Respect and decency are disappearing from politics, while meaningful debate is increasingly giving way to arguments. I want to help change that by doing my part for the community. I believe that when public funds are spent wisely and efficiently, we can all enjoy a better quality of life – including here in Nižná. After my first term in office, I want to be judged by what I have achieved, not by another set of promises.
I am standing for Volt Slovakia, a party I have been a member of for around two years. Volt genuinely brings people together from across Europe, and I want Slovakia to be a modern, strong part of that team. The world has moved forward, and retreating into our own shell will get us nowhere.
My Priorities
A Riverside Path for Everyone – Side by Side
Our riverside embankment is more than just a popular place for sports and walks. It is also part of a cycling route that runs across the Orava region. That is why it should be safe and comfortable for everyone who uses it. I want to advocate for widening the path and clearly separating the cycling and pedestrian lanes.
The Bus Station and Surrounding Area
People have been talking about transforming Nižná's bus station for years, yet instead of a welcoming public space, we still have a large expanse of asphalt. Plans already exist – including an urban planning study from 2018. I want to reopen the discussion and move it from proposals towards real solutions. Nižná deserves a public space that reflects the character and potential of our village.
More Than Just a Few Ideas…
I am ready to give more – my time, energy and commitment. But to do that, I need your trust.
If you choose to support me with your vote, I will do everything I can to make sure I do not let you or Nižná down.
My Vision for Nižná
Nižná has a strong reputation and a rich history, and I want it to make the most of its potential. The large asphalt area in the centre – a reminder of the days when thousands of factory workers boarded and left buses here – now offers far less than a village like ours deserves. This is exactly where I see an opportunity for our first and most ambitious transformation.
I envision a village with thoughtful urban planning, where new neighbourhoods are not built haphazardly, where the riverside path properly serves both cyclists and pedestrians, and where other important parts of the village centre are revitalized.
At the same time, we should preserve what already works – the regular events that have been attracting visitors from surrounding towns and villages for years.
How I Work
I work fairly, follow the rules and, above all, believe in teamwork. I believe good results do not come from one person's decisions, but from cooperation, listening to different perspectives and finding solutions that benefit the whole community. I am also used to taking responsibility for my work, keeping my commitments and seeing things through to completion.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why are you standing for election?
Because I see potential in Nižná that I do not want to see go to waste. I want to bring integrity and energy to areas where little has happened for years and help get things moving in our village.
What will be your main priorities?
Widening the riverside path for cyclists and pedestrians, finding a new purpose for the asphalt area around the bus station, and improving other parts of the village where even small changes could make an ordinary walk more enjoyable. These places have the potential to significantly improve everyday life in Nižná and transform the appearance of its centre.
How can residents get involved?
I welcome every suggestion, meeting or conversation. I want to meet residents in person – outside the local shop, at the bus stop – and listen to what they feel Nižná needs most. I believe good ideas do not always come from the municipal office, but often directly from the people themselves.
