Local and Regional Elections 2026 – Candidates / Candidate for the Košice City Council and Košice–Sídlisko KVP Borough Council

“A city should take care of the small things, not just major projects.”

A Košice local from Sídlisko KVP. Project manager and cost analyst. Someone who pays attention even to the small things.

My name is Patrik Dinis, and I live in the Sídlisko KVP borough of Košice. After graduating from the Faculty of Mining, Ecology, Process Control and Geotechnologies (BERG) at the Technical University of Košice, I spent more than 10 years working in public administration. Today, I work as a project manager and construction cost estimator. As a Košice resident, I see that the city focuses mainly on major investments, while smaller unfinished jobs and problems remain unresolved for years. I am standing for Volt Slovakia as a candidate for both the Košice–Sídlisko KVP Borough Council and the Košice City Council because these everyday issues have a significant impact on people's quality of life.

Who I Am

Sídlisko KVP is my home.

I live in the Sídlisko KVP borough of Košice. I graduated from the Faculty of Mining, Ecology, Process Control and Geotechnologies (BERG) at the Technical University of Košice and spent more than ten years working in public administration. Today, I work as a project manager and construction cost estimator.

My professional experience has taught me how projects are prepared and budgeted – and where money and time are most often wasted. Both as a resident and a professional, I see that Košice focuses primarily on major investments, while smaller unfinished jobs and problems remain unresolved for years.

I want to understand the specific needs and concerns of residents and contribute to making both Sídlisko KVP and Košice as a whole more pleasant and safer places to live.

Why I Am Standing for Election

Major investments are not enough. The small things matter too.

As a project manager and construction cost estimator, I see that Košice focuses almost exclusively on major investments. Smaller unfinished jobs and problems go unresolved for years – even though they often have the greatest impact on people's everyday lives.

I am standing for election to both the Sídlisko KVP Borough Council and the Košice City Council because I want the city to pay attention to transport, parking, safety and cleanliness, not just major projects. I want to focus on the specific needs and concerns of residents.

I am standing for Volt Slovakia – a centrist, pro-European party whose ambition is to see Slovak cities and municipalities rank among Europe's leaders in quality of life, digital services, climate resilience and public participation.

My Priorities

Transport, Parking and Green Spaces

As a resident, I care about the condition of our roads, pavements, car parks and cycle paths. I will advocate for their construction and renovation, as well as the development of green spaces and rainwater retention measures.

Safety and Cleanliness

I want to see more public LED lighting and CCTV cameras installed in high-risk areas of Košice. I will also advocate for more litter bins and cleaner public spaces.

Supporting Senior Citizens and Single Parents

I want to help tackle loneliness, improve access to care within the community and make it easier for people to balance family life with work.

My Vision for Košice

My vision is to contribute to the development of Sídlisko KVP and Košice, making them pleasant places to live where residents feel safe and have access to high-quality, more diverse and better-targeted public services.

I envision a city that does not overlook everyday concerns: safe and clean streets, reliable transport and parking, plenty of green spaces and services that respond to residents' specific needs – from families with children and young people to senior citizens.

How I Work

As a project manager and construction cost estimator, I am used to preparing projects, monitoring costs and seeing things through to completion. I want to bring the same approach to my work for Sídlisko KVP and Košice – listening to people's specific needs and finding practical solutions.
