Tichomir Ivan (Duplicated)
“I want to manage public assets, not just administer them.”
Facility Manager. Expert in Property and Asset Management.
My name is Tichomír Ivan, and I have more than 13 years of experience in property and facility management across Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Poland – including experience in the public sector and energy management. I bring practical expertise to politics: I know how to manage public assets efficiently, transparently and cost-effectively, rather than simply administer them. I am standing for Volt Slovakia to put this experience to work where decisions about regional and municipal assets are made.
Who I Am
I understand asset management – both in practice and in the public sector.
I am a facility management professional with more than 13 years of experience managing buildings, infrastructure and services across Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Poland. My work focuses on establishing efficient processes, managing operations and optimizing costs, including experience in the public sector and energy management.
I have been interested in public affairs since I was young. My first involvement came at around the age of fifteen through Scouting. Later, I served as Vice President for Internal Affairs in the Young Europeans organization. I have long been driven by a desire to improve how things work, establish effective systems and bring order where it is lacking.
Outside work, I enjoy art in all its forms and have a fondness for old-fashioned things – printed books, vinyl records, analogue photography and music performed by real people.
Why I Am Standing for Election
The problem is not a lack of resources, but how they are managed.
I am standing for election because I have long seen a gap between how public administration could work and how it actually operates. Many regional challenges are not caused by a lack of resources, but by inefficient management and insufficient focus on results.
Managing public assets – buildings, energy, maintenance and procurement – is an area where money has long been wasted, most often due to a lack of expertise rather than bad intentions. I want to bring the professional approach I use in my everyday work: transparent procurement, data-driven maintenance and efficient resource management instead of ad hoc decisions.
I am standing for Volt Slovakia because I share its strong pro-European outlook. Volt allows me to connect ideas and solutions across Europe, rather than limiting them to the local level.
My Priorities
Efficient Management of Regional Assets and Public Buildings
I want schools, social care facilities and other regional buildings and assets to be managed efficiently and sustainably. This means reducing unnecessary costs, improving energy efficiency and introducing systematic maintenance instead of waiting until emergency repairs are needed.
Quality and Accessibility of Public Services
I want to improve the services that regional government directly influences – particularly secondary schools and social care facilities. My focus is on making these services more accessible, improving the quality of their facilities and ensuring they better meet the actual needs of people in our region.
My Vision for Our Region
I hope to see a region that operates more efficiently, is better managed and offers young people enough opportunities that they do not feel compelled to leave. For the Trnava Region and the surrounding areas I know well, it is important that schools, social care facilities and public buildings are properly maintained and managed efficiently, both in terms of energy use and day-to-day operations.
Above all, we should preserve the region's strong sense of community and local identity. Change should focus on better planning, more transparent management of public funds and a stronger emphasis on the results of public investment.
How I Work
I want to manage public assets the same way I do in my professional work – proactively and based on data, rather than waiting for problems to arise. If elected, I want to help ensure that schools and public buildings across the region are better maintained, less likely to require emergency repairs and managed more efficiently, so residents can see that the regional government takes responsible care of its assets.
